The Conrad Algarve

18 April 2015

If you have been following my recent travels, you will know I recently had the opportunity to visit the Algarve. We stayed at the gorgeous Conrad Algarve in Quinta Do Lago near Faro.

Side note:  Faro has amazing orange trees everywhere, can you spot the oranges on the tree behind us.

We had an early flight into Faro airport and arrived at the hotel at 1pm, my first impressions of the hotel was a bit distorted; on arrival we couldn't get a room until around 3pm as all the rooms were in full capacity; and when we did finally check in there was a mix up with our room.

These are issues you would not usually expect from a 5* luxury hotel.  However these are the only downsides I can think of; and after numerous apologies from the check in desk and a welcome drink, all was well again.

Hotel exterior

Our bedroom was big enough for 3, It was spacious, light and airy and even had a TV over the bathtub, It was the type of luxury you would expect from a 5* hotel; It also helped that this hotel has only just gone past the 2 year mark, so the rooms were still spotless. (I have a travel video coming up soon on the blog with a walk-through of the hotel.)

The service from the members of staff at this hotel is what sells it, we had daily breakfast and dinner at the hotel and the service we received was amazing.
They couldn't do enough for us and every day they remembered my sons name and made us feel welcome.

Champagne for breakfast anyone? or you can settle for a variety of fresh juices like I did.

The hotel grounds are big enough, and there are also has quite a few activities to keep you busy; We enjoyed using the indoor pool when it rained and the outdoor pool when the sun was out. You can also indulge in a game of table tennis, mini golf in the sports room or a range of daily exercise classes.

Indoor and Outdoor Pool

Apart from a few niggles with check-in and the down pour of rain on the occasional day, we enjoyed our time at Conrad; and will definitely visit again to see more of Portugal.

My little traveller definitely enjoyed it. Until next time Conrad, and as they say in Portugal "Obrigado Conrad". (look up the meaning  x)
