A day at the Museum - Exploring England series 2

A couple of weeks ago, I took a trip into London and explored the British Museum. There's something about embarking on a tourist-type activity in your own hometown that makes you feel super excited.

It was my little ones first real trip on the london underground (tube or trains for those who aren't familiar with London) so there was excitement in the air, or rather in the underground.

On the getting to the museum the atmosphere was buzzing, from the big London black cabs to the multitude of tourists and burger vans, and the surprisingly gorgeous spring weather, it was the best day to explore London.

We explored the different continents inside the museum from Africa to Europe and Egypt, educating ourselves on the history of the world.

If you've ever heard of the famous Cleopatra, some of her remains lie at the British museum.

I also enjoyed reading some of the history behind the 'Tree of Life'

If you're ever in London and stuck for what to do, plan a day trip to the British museum, you won't be disappointed; there's a really good buzz around Museum street.

PS: The mask I'm wearing is from the museum's novelty shop, there are loads of  mini novelty shops where you can buy different souvenirs.

Tips
London Underground station: 6 minutes walk from Holborn station
Entry: Admission to the museum is free. However, donations of £5 can also be made at the museum if feeling generous.
Take a bite to eat or a drink if you're visiting with kids; the museum is huge.
