Park Hyatt Mallorca

Mallorca is always guaranteed to have warmer weather during the winter seasons; this past winter, I decided to go on a short break to Mallorca in the month of February to escape the freezing cold weather in the UK.

I stayed at the Park Hyatt Resort in Canyamel; A town on the outskirts of the city. This hotel is in a class of its own, from the Spanish inspired buildings to the ambience and service at the hotel, I only have good things to say about this resort.

I stayed in a generously sized 1 King bed garden room, the neutral decor and the overall style of the room was very well thought out. The room was bright and airy with the added benefit of a carefully manicured garden accessible through the back bedroom doors.

The cluster of villas within the hotel grounds are all surrounded with fruit trees, we had blackberry trees in our garden room with magical hilltop views of the mountains. I was completely sold by the style of the traditional Spanish villas at the hotel, from the oak wooden bay windows to the sandy look of the villas; it truly is a special place for a luxury retreat in Mallorca.

Beach Surfing in Phuket, Thailand

Phuket is the perfect location for beach surfing; there are many amazing beach locations with natural white sand, palm trees, beach activities and the most amazing sunsets.
Today I'm listing below some of my favourite beach locations to visit in this region; I hope it helps you with your itinerary if you're visiting Thailand soon.

1. Rawai Beach
Rawai beach offers a long stretch of sandy beach and it definitely has a homely feel to it. This is an ideal location for boarding a long tail boat and exploring some of the famous islands in Phuket, such as James Bond island. Make sure you bargain for a long tail boat instead of accepting the first price offered.
Rawai beach, is probably not the ideal location for catching waves or surfing; however, its a good location for viewing long tail boats and also stopping by to see a few of the locals and fishermen.

2. Patong Beach
Patong is a well known beach location in Thailand; this beach offers a long stretch of Sandy beach, exceptional sea waves, kite surfing and lots of beach activities.
Patong is a good location for exploring Phuket, you get a good feel of the town as you explore life with the locals. The beach has a really good vibe and energy to it, with a host of local restaurants just across the road from the beach.

3 The Nai Harn Beach
The Nai Harn Beach is definitely one of the most beautiful locations I've come across in Phuket; Nai Harn offers a long stretch of Sandy beach with plenty of ocean waves for surfing and swimming. The Nai Harn beach is also directly opposite The Nai Harn hotel, its the perfect location for a luxury hotel stay, with the beach right at the forefront of the hotel. If you missed my review of The Nai Harn hotel, you can read it here.

4. Karon Beach
Karon Beach is the perfect location for watching sunsets; we made a last minute stop at Karon Beach to watch the sun setting and it was one of the most peaceful sights I have ever seen.

The Nai Harn - Phuket,Thailand

Over the Summer I took a trip to Thailand in south-east Asia and although the thought of a 15hr journey from London was slightly nerve-wracking, I came to the conclusion that exploring the beautiful island of Phuket and experiencing daily life with the locals was enough compensation for the time spent travelling.

Phuket is a beautiful island in the west coast of Thailand with beautiful white sandy beaches and a completely zen atmosphere. If you've ever wanted to go on vacation and be almost at one with nature; Phuket definitely ticks a lot of boxes.

Where did I stay in Phuket
I stayed at The Nai Harn resort in Rawai Phuket. This gorgeous hotel is nestled high on a hill overlooking the beautiful Nai Harn beach. The peaceful view of the waves and the swaying palm trees from our hotel was completely calming and relaxing.
This resort is picturesque in every sense of the word; a place where every picture taken was completely Instagram worthy.

The streets of Bangkok

The busy streets of Bangkok reminded me of Lagos, Nigeria. Colourful, vibrant and oh so noisy. From the sound of the tuk-tuks, to the street vendors selling traditional cold fruits by the road side; I decided instantly that Bangkok is like marmite, you either love it or hate it.

If you are planning a trip to Thailand, you definitely want to spend at least 1 or 2 days in Bangkok before you set off island hopping. I've listed a few places to explore in Bangkok below.

1. China town
China town is a vibrant market in Bangkok where you can grab yourself a bargain, the night market usually opens from 6pm upwards. China town is not for the faint hearted, take a drink with you and a practical rucksack instead of that treasured Gucci bag.

2. Asiatique night Market
Asiatique market is a smaller version of a night market, its definitely more up-market than China town, with slightly more sophisticated kiosks and good everyday bargains.

Mykonos Island - my itinerary

Mykonos is an island in Greece also known as 'the island of the winds'. This picturesque island has been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember and I'm glad I finally had the time to visit this year.
Today I will be sharing with you some of the places that made it unto my Mykonos itinerary. If you're planning a trip to Greece, take the inspiration and go and see this beautiful island.

1. Mykonos town
The blue and white theme of Mykonos town is so captivating, I felt like I was walking in a real life picture, every corner I turned I was snapping away and also soaking up the atmosphere.

Myconian Utopia Mykonos

Mykonos is everything I dreamt it would be and more; from the blue and white themed buildings to the white-washed walls and sandy beaches; this picturesque city in Greece is a must see and definitely one to add to your bucket list.

My first stop in Mykonos was to the Myconian Utopia Resort. The Myconian Collection is a brand of luxury hotels in Mykonos, with numerous hotels in the Elia region. The word Utopia lends itself to the meaning of 'paradise', 'eden', or 'bliss' and my experience at Myconian Utopia was near enough just that.

On entering the hotel, it oozed out a peaceful yet contemporary vibe in a serene space, I knew I was in for a treat!

Our room overlooked the beautiful blue Aegean sea and Elia Beach.
The decor in the bedrooms utilizes environmentally friendly techniques, with custom made modern furniture and  hand cut stones.
